Today was awesome. Quite a few good things happened. We had a turkey bowl for the whole mission, it was a blast! Thanksgiving dinner was awesome last night, and we had it today too! Before today, I’ve never prayed to stay hungry and eat more and more food. I’m so very grateful the Lord answered my prayer.
The first Thanksgiving Dinner was with the Burt’s, it was a great. I ate quite a bit. The Johnson’s didn’t have us for Thanksgiving but wanted to, so they made a whole Thanksgiving dinner just for us the next day! They made us individual Cornish Hens, it was great, and both meals were really good. For once, I wasn’t the person that ate the least.
Today we also had a Turkey Bowl, it was a ward one. I’ve never been good at football, but I was able to jump up and intercept the ball and made 3 touchdowns in a row. It was awesome. Dad would have yelled so loud! That’s never happened to me! It was really fun. I’ll have to say, it was way more fun to play with the ward, but it was great to see all the missionaries. Two people got hurt. Two sister missionaries got hurt. For the Turkey Bowl the different zones had uniforms. We decided to go as Superhero’s.
One sister missionary broke her leg. The wheelchair that one of our guys brought to be the X-men guy that was in a wheelchair, X-avier, or something like that. Another Sister missionary took a knee to the head and was nearly knocked out. So
Oh, and I got to start someone’s car because their battery died. And no one knows how to use cables right. I was surprised; it’s not rocket science!
After the Turkey Bowl, we went up to put up some Christmas Lights. They have tile roofs here. Two-stories up, I was on an extension ladder at the very top, pitched at a crazy angle. That was fun! We did this for the Johnson’s, that night they had us for dinner as well. They had gifts for us all. Which was awesome. All very personal gifts. Like my companion’s all into Toy Story, and they got him some little Toy Story Beenie Babies. They each picked out a Hot Wheel car for me that they thought I’d like. Very thoughtful, isn’t it. The hoods pop up to show their engine. They have a little boy who is a lot like me. He likes to build and invent and think of stuff like that. So, he kind of acts a lot like me too. I love that family.
We had Thanksgiving dinner with the Burt’s. We watched Toy Story again. And we were watching it, first Elder Mosquito fell asleep, then Zamarippa fell asleep, my companion, which is funny since he’s the toy story nut. He loves all that stuff!
Things are going great! So much to share. And my cursive writing sucks, so I can’t read my notes. Actually my cursive writing is great, it’s my speed cursive writing that’s not very good, even though it’s cleaner than my normal writing.
Zack’s baptism is tomorrow. It’s the 28th today; his baptism is on the 29th. Man, Zack is awesome! He’s 27, I think. If I remember correctly. 27 or 26. He’s got a little boy, not 1 year old yet but he looks like a 3 year old. And they’re expecting another. The first day we met Zack it was awesome! We were street contacting. We knew the Brazils’ live there; we had knocked on the door a couple times before, but never caught them. Sister Brazil told us to come over around 4pm, that that would be a good time. They have crazy schedules. It turns out Brother Brazil did art sales and stuff like that. So he was in Dubai for a while. Sister Brazil works for Delta. Zack is a sushi chef at a restaurant. I’ve already told you this, but Zack lost his job. But he’s already found another job. He’s working to get his Sunday’s free. We were talking about how this is a blessing. And how Satan would tempt him as he gets closer and closer to his baptism. He says he feels the spirit every time we see him. He interrupts the lessons when he feels it, and it’s the coolest thing to see!
Even though I’m blistered up, and my asthma has been giving me trouble, things are still great!
Take Care,
Love,
Elder Tucker
