The past two weeks have been hard. We have been biking more and more, and tracking and street contacting too. We are in the process of revising our teaching pool. We were able to meet with Craig last night. We have been trying to get in since I have been here. My companion said, the missionaries before us used to spend too much time there. As a result, they have been avoiding the missionaries. We were told to try to see them at 8pm. Which is the same time we've been knocking their door, but my companion and I desired to check up on them earlier, since they have little kids, and last night it worked! We taught a lesson in 35-40 minutes, and it was great! We had forgot to set up a follow up lesson, and then they asked just before we were leaving, for us to come by next Sunday night.
It's raining right now! :)
Robert, the kid we were teaching with some mental instabilities was sent to the hospital the other day for trying to kill the helper lady's son. He will not be able to have lessons for a while. He freaked out in the hospital too. He is in the big soft padded room where he won't hurt anyone or himself. The thing that set him off is crazy! He said he wanted hot chocolate, his mom said that he can go make it, he asked how to get the water to the right temperature. His mom told him to put it in the microwave, he argued that that makes it too hot. I guess he did for a bit, and she asked if it's hot enough. He freaked out and threw the water on her and started to punch her and hit her and then ran. His mom is scared and worried. It's such a sad situation, I don't know what else we can do.
Last night we went to our ward mission leader's house. We have been teaching the first lesson to the families who have us over for dinner. We are trying to help the member feel more comfortable with giving us referrals and feel good about inviting their friends to hear about the gospel. We taught his family, iit was nowhere near my best lesson, but they said that it was great and gave us some advice of things we could work on that I didn't recognize. So I'm excited for their feedback. We also left them some pamphlets and committed them to give them to someone they know. Their youth got excited and said that they had someone to share it with. They also asked for Books of Mormon to give to those friends. It was really great, I'm hopeful.
About General Conference, I will have to read their talks again. I pulled more from their talks then I ever have before, it was awesome to be able to hear the prophet speak to us in OUR time for OUR trials, it is great!!!! A Miracle of the restoration. And is so comforting.
The last couple of weeks have been kind of slow, so we have been trying hard to find people to teach. I did not come on a mission to sit, I cam because I want to teach. I'm working hard to find them.
