This is my second night sleeping in my pros clothes (proselytizing clothes) because I AM SORE!!!
I have blisters on both of my feet from walking so far. We are finding for most parts of the day, but there were not many people out last night. We walked and walked, and I was praying that the Lord would put someone in our path to teach since we had not had a single lesson all week. Shortly after that, this boy walked up and asked if he could us our phone. He talked to someone about getting out of a program and trying to find a bus stop cuz he didn’t know where one was. He gave us back our phone and we told him that we knew where one was and that we’d be happy to walk him there.
This guy is a 17 year old kid with a baby on the way who got kicked out of an anger management program. We asked him if he knew when the anger started. He said when his grandma died. When he was growing up, and things were hard, when he got home, she would listen to him and talk with him and make him feel better. When she died he didn’t have anyone to work with him like that, he began to get violent. My companion had some similar problems, apparently. We talked about the plan of salvation and explained where we believe his grandmother is now. He loved that! And we taught the restoration of the gospel, and got him to the bus stop. We gave him a card with our phone number and a pamphlet about temples and the restoration.
Then we started the hour and a half walk back to our place. Last night, my nose was runny and I kept sniffing while I slept, the back of my throat hurts and when I woke up I could barely talk, and it hurts to try.
Good news! We got a call from someone in the ward telling us that they have someone that wants to take the lessons and they set up a dinner for us to teach them. That will be so awesome. And there is a family that came to the Trunk or Treat and they’ve been coming to church and we are setting up lessons with them too. It will be a good week to come. I’m tire of being sick and having it slow me down. I am a hard worker.
