There is just one way to explore Rome with kids of any age...GELATO! The rule in Rome was , if you want gelato, you get gelato: whenever, wherever! The gelato made those tired legs walk a little further, curbed some whining between historic sites, and was just plain amazing!
We walked sooooo much in Rome! So, so much, did I mention anything about walking in Rome? Well, we did. And my 70 year old mother was a champ! So was my 10 year old son ;-)
We all really enjoyed the audio tour of the Colloseum, the Trevi Fountain was so beautiful, the Sistine Chapel (sorry no photos allowed) was an experience, the Vatican: interesting, and the kids loved playing lazer tag in the large columns of the Pantheon. There are beautiful fountains all over this city. It really was fascinating, just not where you go on holiday to relax! Too much to see, too little time! Remember, when in Rome?....Gelato!
Check out the photos: And remember, you just click on the picture to see it larger and use your arrow keys to move from photo to photo!
