Ah, I so love it when the sun comes out here. It's just magical. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll, Jaxon got to play at the Princess Dianna Memorial Park, or as he calls it, the Pirate Park! While Jason's mom, Emily, and I checked out Kensington Palace.

We were a bit unsure how our day would turnout since we were on a mission to show Jason's parents a great day in Bath, but we were bringing the little boys. In the end though, it was just a fantastic day. The countryside was beautiful, Stonehenge was crazy windy, but great, and we loved meandering the streets of Bath while we searched for an address of one of Jason's ancestors. Just a great day. While everyone was enjoying touring the Roman baths, Jaxon enjoyed the pigeons while I enjoyed a beautiful scone with clotted cream and jam. Like I said, a great day. We were out of school for the 2 week Easter Holiday, and the sun was shining! It was quite a lovely day in the city and the boys had already enjoyed a day of just lying around the house, so I thought I'd better get my boys running around. I figured, let's go to the beach! I called up my friend Stacy, and she was game too. Unfortunately the weather wasn't quite so inviting once we arrived. Oh, the sun was out alright but so was the the wind! The temperatures weren't quite so inviting either. But that didn't keep the boys from doing exactly what we came there to do! They enjoyed building sand castles *or a sand toilet! They ran in and out of the small waves, Dallin explored the seabed as the tide went way out before we left. It was a great day enjoyed by all. Even if I did wear my hoodie the entire time! So much for getting a little sun on this chicks British-looking white legs! Let me explain some church distances for you. Our ward building is 10 minutes from our house. The London temple is a 30 minute drive from our house. Our stake center....an hour away!!! Isn't that crazy. Because of this, we packed a pretty good picnic to enjoy just after our stake conference twice a year. This one was just a month before AJ would leave on a mission and we thought we'd try to get a few pictures.
Our family's experience of the Paris Marathon 2014 is quite a bit different than Jason's. He ran...and ran...and ran... The rest of us was on a mission to find him! We spent most of our day underground on the Metro getting from place to place. It was so great when we found him! The kids loved finding him! Jason did so well, we were so proud of him. I know running a marathon may not seem so amazing these days, because so many people do it. But this girl doesn't, and it's remarkable! Little Jaxon loved cheering for his dad, but he also enjoyed cheering for ALL the runners! Check out the video at the bottom. Emily has a very good friend here, her name is Gemma. Their birthdays are within a week of each other's, so they had a birthday party together. A party for Gemma and Emily...for Gemily!!! The girls had a great time making it through our very own little laser course, then enjoyed an evening at Laser Quest. It was all Gemily's idea. They had a great time planning and partying. And here we go...two teenage girls in the Tucker home. Wish us luck! While living in England we have been part of the wonderful Selsdon Ward. One amazing thing this ward sponsored each year was a half marathon headed up by the wonderful David Eaton. In 2013, Jason ran the Selsdon Half as he prepared to run the Paris Marathon the following month with his sisters. In 2014, the week before the Selsdon Half, AJ said that he was going to run it. Take note, AJ's not a runner. It's not something he ever just does, but he's a strapping teenage boy! We figured he could do it but he'd be in some serious pain afterwards. Again, Jason was training for another marathon, and he was skeptical if AJ would do it, and if he'd finish it. Oh, there's one more thing you ought to know about the Selsdon Half Marathon: 2 words for you... HILLS! (I know that's one word, just cracks me up). So he did it! They did it! And here are the results: AJ Tucker 1:52.37 Jason Tucker 1:53.10 They ran in neck and neck, sprinting toward the finish line! A.J. was so excited. He had one goal apparently, and that was to beat his dad! And he did it! (By a nose). It was such a fun experience for them, I don't think either of them will ever forget it! It's a fantastic event for any of my local friends who want to try a nearby half marathon, check out the website at the bottom. http://www.selsdonhalfmarathon.verycool.co.uk Mother's Day in England is in March, not May! Jason was out of town, and I expected a pretty typical Sunday without Jason at home. But I woke up to a beautiful breakfast in bed made by Janae and Emily and had a pleasant day with all the kids. After dinner I told the kids, "I know what I want for Mother's Day!" I explained that I wanted us to walk down the road to Coombe Gardens and take some photos. As many photos as this family has taken over they years, one might get the idea that they enjoy it. But let me tell you....it's among the things they loathe in life!!!! So the fact that they agreed was such a wonderful gift this Mother's Day. And now I have these great photos forever! In the end, it was one of my very best Mother's day! They are my life. |
